Muraskomusic

The Journey

In a few words

If you were to ask me to describe when I began my interest in music, I would have to say that i have loved music since I was about three. Like many kids by third grade, I had graduated to playing the recorder, which eventually led me to picking up the saxophone in the 5th grade, and on up through 10th grade. In 10th grade, I joined a rock-n-roll band as sax player and vocalist. This is where I was given my nickname by the pianist in the band, "The Murasko kid". Though I'm still a child at heart, I simply now go by the band name Muraskomusic. The  dismantling of my original band was the actual beginning of my musical journey, and my interest in many other instruments as well as music production.

I have to say the guitarist in my original band was paramount in finding the love that I feel for playing guitar. Though it did not start off in a good way. At rehearsal I used to pick up one of his guitars and explore some finger positions and play. This was always met by anger and belligerent behavior and I was told that I was no good and should give it up. I didn't listen to him and it inspired me to delve  deeper into the guitar, so Thanks Jim!

I've often been asked to explain my style of music. I would have to say that the fact that I was born in a northern suburban town near Detroit Michigan had a large influence on my style. Growing up in the Detroit area, the two musical styles that Detroit is known for is Mo-town and Rock-n-Roll. Being the youngest of seven, these types of music were always being played around the house. However, I think that the Beatles were the group that was most instrumental in the fact that playing music picked me. There are many artists in these genres that inspired the upbeat Rhythm's and strong lyrics that are a signature in my music.

My wish is that my music will capture an audience of both young and old. I know that young people are the predominant consumers and explorers of music, however, I hope that what I have put together will reach out to all age groups.

The journey of recording my second Album has been going on for quite a few years. Some may say, “Too many”! And I would have to agree. But I made a commitment to go beyond what I had done in the past. So I dove deeper into the main aspects of making music. Songwriting, Recording, mixing and mastering. To say that I was naive when i was creating my first my album is a huge understatement. I was rubbing two sticks together, while others were using flame throwers to light their fire. Luckily we live in the computer age and much knowledge is only a keystroke away. So I've spent many days and nights trying to figure it all out. So here it is, I'm releasing my second album, “Forbidden fruit” also some fear, procrastination and relief.

By the way, I will be releasing my original album in 2024. I guess technically that would make Lost in Razzi berry field my second album since my first album Lost in Razzi Berry Field hasn't been seen for many, many years. Thank God! Of course this will be the new and improved version of my album  “Lost in Razzi Berry Field”

Since I have finished my new project I've gotten really great response. The other thing for me is that I'm very proud of this work and I feel like this represents what I'm all about as a songwriter and a musician.

As far as my other areas of interest, I am a huge nature fan. I take advantage of any opportunity to trail blaze. An ideal day for me would be sitting on the top of a mountain with the ones I love. I love exploring and photographing sites unseen by others all while trying not to do a header off a cliff.

On a final note, I would like to add that I am an avid seeker of happiness, as I feel it is one of the greatest gifts that one can give to themselves and to others. As part of my quest for happiness, I use biking for not only feeling happy, but to fuel my creative energy. Staying fit of mind and body has paid off when it comes to my music and in my life.

I hope this biography helps you, as an appreciator of music, to understand me as an artist a little bit more. I'm looking forward to creating more music in the years to come, and hope that you will share in my journey to live out my dream.

Cheers and Happy Listening!
